Christmas Shopping in SL the Crammer Way Part 1: Cabin and Reindeer from FD Decor

It is a good thing that it is a lot easier to cram my Christmas shopping in SL. No traffic to deal with and I can find some really good items for absolutely free. I may not have the patience for hunts but I can certainly sit out in prize camp chairs WHILE doing something productive online (like an online RL work). Like multi-tasking, which I am quite good at. (Now you know one of the reasons why I am AFK more often than not. 🙂 )

So I went to this place called FD Decor. The shop is currently participating in some of the many Christmas hunts ongoing in SL right this time.

Unfortunately I do not have much time and patience for hunts. I can only sit out or be alerted when a letter corresponding to the beginning of my name is called out. Lots of cool goodies here. Take for instance, this Christmas cabin, which is just 31 prims. The cabin can be won through the Midnight Mania Lucky Board.

The inside of the cabin is sparsely furnished with Christmas tree and a fireplace. I certainly appreciate the attention given to detail in making this item, like the windows that collect snow at the sills and metal frames.

I also got me a Christmas sleigh bed that is embedded with multiple poses (single and couple). There are options for a spread blanket, comforter, and off blanket. All at 17 prims. You can win this through the camp chair or through the Santa Lucky Letter chair.

The Christmas chair here (12 prims) is cool, with blanket or stocking options, and multiple poses. Picked this up at the camping chair.

The Christmas Vibe

My country, the Philippines, has been known to celebrate the Yuletide season as early as September. It has always been a wonder to me. Whether it is a collective innate effort to be inspired to do good all the time (since Christmas is said to bring out the good in everyone), or a capitalist scheme to siphon off the gullible Filipino’s money (my goodness, isn’t that a very skeptical aside? LOL), I am not too sure.

Today, however, we are nearing the tail end of November. The Christmas vibe can no longer be ignored, not even in Second Life. Certainly not in Sanada SIM, my clan’s SIM, where Christmas trees and snowmen are beginning to sprout like mushrooms.

I am slowly but surely shifting the decor of my home to a more Christmassy look, though I do not want it to look so tacky and cliche-ish. Will work on my house as soon as I get back from my, ugh, break. (Agaaaiiin?!)

As long as I know who you are (i.e., my contact, my clan family in Sanada, a friend from the C:SI community) and you know where my house is, you can always hang around my place. I have started putting dreamy snowflake trees and stuff, and you can keep warm by the fireplace and have some tea…or go soak up in a warm bath at the sky level. (I rarely ban people but I do have a list. :D) By December, redecoration of my house for Christmas will hopefully be finished. 🙂 See you peeps. Till the next post.
